Mahindra drops Global Vehicles as their U.S. DistributorThe Indian Manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., has announced on their website that they are dropping Global Vehicles as their U.S. Importer. The statement reads – “Mahindra’s relationship with Global Vehicles Inc. [sic] (GV) has ended, the agreement dated 26th September 2006 between Mahindra and GV having terminated.”

Global Vehicles has acknowledged that Mahindra attempted to terminate the agreement, but warned that “such attempted termination is invalid under applicable laws of the United States and the State of Georgia, something which Mahindra continues to disregard.”

It looks like the 300-350 dealers who have come on board to sell the small diesel powered pick-up manufactured by Mahindra are left in limbo with few answers on what will happen next. It looks like lawyers will be involved in getting the issue resolved. No matter what happens, this is not a good way to start a dealer-manufacturer relationship. Trust and respect between the two are key components to the success of marketing, selling, and servicing a vehicle in the marketplace.
